Celebrity Chef Showdown
Calgary chefs, mystery ingredients and western grit collide in one of Brakemen's longest-running signature events.
About the Event
Where the Wild West meets the kitchen.
For more than a decade, the Celebrity Chef Showdown has brought together great food, friendly competition and Calgary's western spirit — all in support of Zero Hungry Kids.
Chefs face off before a live audience and panel of judges, transforming surprise ingredients into dishes under pressure. It is fast, creative and full of personality, with the audience right in the middle of the action.
The 2027 event marks the 12th Annual Celebrity Chef Showdown. Ticket information will be released soon.
What to Expect
An experience built around the room.
Live Competition
Watch talented chefs go head-to-head in real time as the room follows every decision.
Mystery Ingredients
Unexpected ingredients force creativity, improvisation and more than a little culinary chaos.
Western Atmosphere
Ranchman's gives the event a distinctly Calgary setting that keeps the night social and high-energy.
The Twist
Great chefs. Mystery ingredients. No easy way out.
The Celebrity Chef Showdown is built around a live cooking competition where chefs have to think on their feet. Previous mystery ingredients have ranged from the unexpected to the downright chaotic — the kind of curveballs that turn a polished dinner into a real showdown.
The result is part culinary competition, part live entertainment and entirely Brakemen.
The Experience
Come for the competition. Stay for the night.
Celebrity Chef Showdown puts guests close to the action — chefs cooking under pressure, judges weighing in, plates coming together and a room that feels part of the competition.
Why It Matters
Competition with a purpose.
Celebrity Chef Showdown turns a memorable night out into meaningful support for Zero Hungry Kids. Every edition helps Brakemen bring people together around a simple purpose: helping children access reliable nutrition at school.
